Scape the smarter, brighter, better partner for Schools Cup

Volleyball Australia is pleased to announce Scape, an accommodation solutions company for university students as the major presenting partner of the 2018 Australian Volleyball Schools Cup alongside the Victorian Government.

Scape is an inspirational place for students to live and work, making sure students have everything they need to feel safer, calm and at home than any other student accommodation out there. The Scape model also works to ensure students feel challenged, clued up and plugged in to new ideas and a new city by creating a student community that looks out for one another. Students get that little bit of guidance that will make a big difference, for uni and beyond.

As the largest school based sporting competition in the Southern Hemisphere the Australian Volleyball Schools’ Cup attracts teams from across Australia, plus international teams. In 2018 the event is being held from 9–15December across four venues in Melbourne including the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, State Netball Centre and Hockey Centre, State Volleyball Centre and the Springers Leisure Centre.

This year a record 551 teams have entered from 150 schools across Australia.

This unique event has delivered national players (beach and indoor) for the last 3 decades and will continue to see the next generation of national, international and potentially Olympic athletes. This includes the recent Gold Coast Commonwealth Games beach volleyball Gold and Silver medallists Christopher McHugh and Damien Schumann and Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy.

Volleyball Australia CEO Mr Andrew Dee said “This partnership is a natural fit for the Schools Cup with more than 5500 students competing, many thinking about their uni life next year. Volleyball as a global sport and its strong links to university life provides both our athletes and Scape an opportunity to thrive”.

Volleyball Australia is the national body responsible for the national men’s and women’s indoor teams the Volleyroos as well delivery of community volleyball through its partners in the states and territories including engagement products like Spikezone the national junior volleyball experience.
