The Australian men’s volleyball team bounced back in the best possible way with a 3-0 victory over Portugal in Iran in the Volleyball Nations League.
The Volleyroos accounted for Portugal 25-23, 25-22, 27-25.
This followed losses to the ladder leaders Iran and the third placed France in Ardabil, Iran.
The victory over fellow challenger team, Portugal, is significant with one of the challenger countries facing relegation from next year’s VNL.
The win moves Australia to 13th on the ladder ahead of Portugal, Germany and China.
The Volleyroos now head to Brisbane for the final round with games this weekend against the defending champions Russia, China and Argentina, at the Queensland State Netball Centre.
Australia takes on Russia on Friday night before facing China on Saturday night, then Argentina on Sunday afternoon.
