Australia comes up short against Japan


Australia will play China in the quarter finals of the Asian Volleyball Confederation Cup after losing its final pool match against Japan in Thailand.

The helloworld Volleyroos struggled to deal with the Japanese serve and also failed to execute under pressure, losing 14-25, 19-25, 23-25.

The result means Australia finished bottom of its pool, while China finished top of Group A.

Jordan Richards was the top scorer for the Volleyroos with 11 points, with captain Tom Hodges finishing with ten points.

Australia will take on China on Monday.
