About Anti-Doping (including WADA Code and ASADA)

 The AVF aims to stop doping practices in sport by:

  • (a) imposing effective sanctions on Persons who commit Anti-Doping Rule violations;
  • (b) educating and informing Persons about drugs in sport issues: and
  • (c) supporting the drug Testing programs and education initiatives of ASADA and other Anti-Doping Organisations

Phasing-out of ATUEs

Throughout 2009, Abbreviated Therapeutic Use Exemptions (ATUEs) have been phased out. From 1 January 2010, athletes may instead be required to apply for Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) from ASDMAC.
